This is non-parasitic member of the order Cuculiformes. It is found across the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia, at altitudes of up to 1,500 metres. These large, crow-like birds have long tails and distinctive copper-brown wings. They inhabit a wide range of environments, from jungles to farmland and urban gardens.
Poor fliers, they are often seen clambering through vegetation or walking on the ground as they forage for insects, eggs, and the chicks of other birds. Status: Very common sedentary species.
