Dainty woodland flycatcher of the family Stenostiridae, found in tropical Asia. It breeds in upland to montane oak and other broadleaved forests. A small, flycatcher-like bird with a square gray crest, narrow white eyering, yellow underparts, and olive-green upperparts.
An insectivore, it sallies for flying insects from low perches beneath the canopy, often foraging in pairs or joining mixed-species flocks. Quite vocal year-round, giving a loud, squeaky whistled song: “wi-tu-wi-tu-wee!” or “wi-wuh-wuh-wee!”. Status: Least Concern (LC).
