Pteruthius aeralatus annamensis is a subspecies of Pteruthius aeralatus endemic to southern Vietnam on the Dalat Plateau. Like others in the genus, it inhabits montane forests. Males and females have different plumages, and variations occur throughout its range, with several populations recognized as subspecies.

The Dalat shrike-babbler primarily feeds on insects and berries, including grasshoppers, moths, caterpillars, and beetles. It is also known to consume seeds. These birds are arboreal foragers, often joining mixed-species flocks, and are agile at catching insects, including those in flight. Status: Least Concern.
