The black-crowned fulvetta is a bird species in the family Pellorneidae. It is endemic to Vietnam. A small cute bird with beautiful eyes. Overall plain brown, with a dark crown patterned with jagged pale streaks and a pale face marked by a broad black stripe above the ear and a smaller “teardrop” mark below the eye.
It inhabits foothill and montane forests, is social, and often found in mixed-species flocks. It moves nimbly on trunks and branches while foraging. Its vocalizations include similar chips calls, rattles, and sharp disyllabic notes. The species is currently evaluated as Least Concern.
