I put off working on the portrait of this character for a long time — saving it for later. In the first series of works, the tiny frog Microhyla pineticola seemed too difficult to draw. Its muted camouflage is challenging to reproduce, and we only encountered the pine narrow-mouthed frog once — I didn’t manage to take many photos.

A rare, perfectly camouflaged, and remarkably small frog with a flattened body and a triangular head — that’s Microhyla pineticola in a few words. It was described as a new species in 2014, by scientists Poyarkov, Vasilyeva, Orlov, Galoyan, Tran, Le, Kretova, and Geissler in Bidoup Nui Ba National Park, in the Da Nhim River valley.
